A 3 Day Core Course in Learning
and Sustainable Development

PURPOSE

To provide industrial decision-makers with the conceptual framework, practical tools and community support they need to build healthy organizations for the long term. This is a unique learning experience that furthers the process of exploring what it will take to create organizations that are sustainable for the long term. It provides an opportunity for peers from industry to learn from each other's successes and challenges in addressing the triple bottom line of sustainability: to achieve the economic, ecological and social results necessary to meet their own needs.

OBJECTIVES
  • To use the concepts, tools and methods of systems thinking and organizational learning to expand our capacity for sustainable development in business

  • To begin to align our technologies with scientific principles for sustainability in order to create products and services that will benefit society for the long term.

  • To expand our horizons to see how our economic systems are embedded within and defined by the broader ecosystem and to let that awareness become a core design concept behind our business strategies.

  • To begin to see the leverage points and opportunities where I and my company can make a difference in meeting the triple bottom line.

  • To develop a community of learners who are colleagues in the pursuit of creating sustainable development processes, practices and results in business.

Einstein said, "we cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them." These are challenging times which require new thinking and new paradigms. Be prepared to discover how your thinking and actions can enhance your company's potential for innovation and sustainability. Join us in exploring new concepts and methods for doing business that are sustainable for the long term.

To support the integration of new methods in your workplace, we encourage you to attend with others from your organization,

We believe that companies engaged in this pioneering work will be ahead of the curve on issues of sustainability, and will have the potential to gain strategic advantage over their competitors. They will be able to build organizations that will thrive in an economy that is increasingly defined by global economic pressures, changing social conditions, and natural laws of organization.
